Due to a little bit of nagging, and me feeling a little guilty. Bookbooth has returned to life. However, from this point on, it shall be updated on a WEEKLY BASIS, every TUESDAY. So, let's see...

"World War Z" by Max Brooks
2006

It began with rumours from China about another pandemic. Then the cases started to multiply and what had looked like the stirrings of a revolution soon revealed itself to be much, much worse. Faced with a future of mindless, man-eating horror, humanity was forced to face events that tested our sanity and our sense of reality.

Based on extensive interviews with survivors and key players in the ten-year fight-back against the horde, this book tells what is surely the most incredible story in the history of civilization.

This book is incredible, taking place some twelve years after the end of the zombie invasion as the world tries to rebuild itself. The prose flows so well and the research is so detailed that you actually wonder if this all really happened. There are soldiers, politicians, refugees and doctors, all ready with their stories of what really happened when zombies took over the world.

A well-crafted piece of work that will never leave you.

I'll have to mentally bookmark Tuesday as well as Sunday. :)

How many pages are there and how long did it take you to read? I am not the fastest reader and tend to get distracted by imaginative scenes, so I'm thinking whether I should wait to buy it until I have a lot of free time. This perspectvie intrigues me.

That book sounds pretty awesome! I'm not gonna lie. I love me some zombies... although I feel like that would be one of the worst ways to die... just sayin. Getting your face eaten off by a zombie doesn't sound like my idea of a good time lol

@Oddball It's about 320 pages long, and I'm still in the middle of it right now. It's very clever though, well worth a go. Brooks also wrote "The Zombie Survival Guide" which is non-fiction about how to survive a zombie attack. Very insightful!

@AngleGrinder23 Some of the deaths are pretty graphic .. these are proper old school zombies you have to destroy the brain of. Creepy shiz!

I love WWZ! I read it during finals week a few years ago, almost kept me from studying. Did you know they're turning it in to a movie?

@Serenityfilm Oh FFS! It's not the sort of book that can be transfered to film because it's journalistic in nature! Grrr! Can't Hollywood think up their own ideas instead of continuing to ruin perfectly good books?

...Some how I doubt that. Broadway is going the same way, you know the book "A time to kill" ? New Broadway play. What the hell man. I spend all my time learning to write an original script, all the while knowing that the odds are against me because A. No one produces new original work, and B. I'm female. It's sad, but there's very much still a glass ceiling when it comes to females in the film and Theatre business. Our work is very RARELY produced.

*sigh* Hollywood just needs to be injected with new blood. That's all.
