So, Dailybooth, long time no see.
This post should technically be posted tomorrow (10th of Feb) but I'm in one of my seemingly ever more rare writing moods tonight. The main thing on my mind is my birthday coming up on the 10th. I'll be 20 years old and I can't tell you how much that fact is just completely blowing my mind. I'm not usually bothered much by birthdays but I guess this one is special to me just because it's two full decades of alive-ness. It really makes me wonder where all the time has gone and it also makes me realise just how lucky I am.
This year, I'm going to enjoy nothing more than spending the day doing absolutely nothing different than usual - basking in the company of people I love. If I've learned anything over the past year, it's most certainly to cherish moments with people you love. It may sound cliché and obvious but it took me far too long to realise all of this and for the longest time I didn't have my priorities straight in regard to this matter. I'd encourage everyone to think about what their priorities are in a similar way.
Well, I guess that's me off for another 2 months or so, haha! In all seriousness, though, I may be back soon.0 commentsFebruary 8th, 2012

Just been thinking about Christmas and New Year, both of which are not far off now. Here's a fun fact: this New Year, I will have lived in the North West of England for eleven years. Realisation of this has made me remember just how much I miss London. So here I am, sat listening to one of the finest Londoners I know of, wishing I were home - truly home.

Hello!
So, the time has come for me to get a Tumblr account! Well, actually, I've had it for several days now but I just couldn't be bothered posting about it. So, go here for more Michael-related awesomeness: http://semioriginalcontent.tumblr.com/ - not much content right now but I'm working on that.
Other than that, there's not too much going on. I have a job interview this Friday which I am desperately looking forward to and of course that is my faces cue to become all spotty and teenagerish, hence me hiding partially behind my phone.
My phone being in this picture is a good excuse though to mention that I'm making an Android app at the moment. It's nothing too fancy but it's coming along well. I don't really know why I'm mentioning this as though the majority will be interested. If you're interested, go you!
Bye bye bye bye bye bye bye!0 commentsDecember 12th, 2011

On a scale of 1 to pretty fly for a white guy, how do I look? Interview next week and I'm feeling snazzy!
All I need to improve;
1) Get a plain black tie (already on its way),
2) Have a shave,
3) Wear some actual shoes rather than my Simpsons slippers (not pictured).
The exercise and healthier eating I've been doing lately has really paid off! Last time I wore this suit was around this time last year and *everything* was a squeeze to get into. Now it all fits perfectly! Huzzah!
EDIT: And I forgot to reduce the resolution on this pic, so it looks like a blurry mess. Oh well, you get the idea at least!
EDIT 2: Also, how awkward to my hands look in this? I don't know how you folks that take pictures at funny angles do it!1 commentDecember 10th, 2011

Type-a-type-a-type-type-type!
Well, I haven't done *this* in a while. I guess I've stuck to that old habit of mine where I don't sit down and write anything when I'm happy. Now don't get me wrong, I am still for the most part happy - I just felt I should post some kind of update.
So, what's new? Well I'll list this in chronological order;
- Well, I've been speaking to a certain someone for practically every second of my existence since since Bonfire Night. I'm not mentioning their name because they already know who they are and exactly what I think of them (hint: it starts with "ama" and ends with "zing").
- My nan & aunt are going home tomorrow morning, after staying up here for a week. Even though a lot of days out that them and my parents have mainly consist of drinking cups of tea and stuffing their faces, I felt the need to be a bit more social this time due to the fact that it was in the run up to the anniversary of my grandfather's death (which was yesterday). I really see what people mean now when they say "it's not about what you do, it's about who you do it with". To me that's more true now than it ever was.
- To end on a bit of a low note, about 3 days ago I found out my grandmother had a stroke and was rushed to hospital. I don't really want to say much about this because it feels a bit "attention-whoring" to tell the whole internet, so I'll just say that it was good to have my aunt and nan here when we found out. Everyone was upset by the news, but at least we were all upset together and we all visited together (well, once). It's not really clear how she's doing at the moment; signs point to suggesting that she had other multiple strokes while actually in hospital both today and yesterday. All I can do is wait... and waiting sucks.
- I still don't have a job. Since the last time I posted, the town I live in has been announced as one of the top five places in the UK for youth unemployment. How does one stay motivated in situations like this when the news just keeps getting worse? Just what chance does anyone, not just myself, have? More importantly, what is being done to fix this mess? Politicians and financial "experts" would like you to believe they have the answer; they're some of the huge contributing factors that caused this mess in the first place. Going to university was always my backup plan if I can't get a job by some time in 2012 but with fees on the rise, how can I even say with any certainty that this will be a viable option?
Well, that's this little thought dump over with for now. Cya!0 commentsNovember 26th, 2011

Steve Jobs has a TV remote moustache, your argument is invalid.
Today has gone much too quickly. Just got back from a lovely rainy walk and am now sat down listening to some lovely songs by Ghostpoet, particularly "Survive It". Mandatory linkage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usksH8B07do

In waiting for Red Dwarf to start, I thought I'd watch some Question Time on BBC One in the name of trying to be at least semi-informed on current events. I really wish I hadn't. One major topic has been the Occupy London protests and some of the statements (both for and against, I should add) are utterly facepalm worthy.
I'm only Boothing because I haven't done so in 4 days, really. I wouldn't say I'm addicted to DailyBooth but I keep having the urge to Booth something.3 commentsNovember 3rd, 2011
