October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Everyone knows someone that has been touched by the pain of domestic abuse, and you probably don't even know it. DV is a problem that hides behind closed doors, a secret kept from even the closest friends and family members. It is a problem in our society that is largely under-reported and many women and men in abusive situations don't know how to get out!

What can you do? Be aware! Make yourself familiar with the warning signs and resources available so that if you get to talk to a victim ALONE you have that information available for her/him.
