So there many reasons why I chose this design to have emblazoned upon my skin forevermore but I shan't go into them, unless of course you ask, but one thing I will say about the Ohm (Om, Aum) is that in various Hindu and Buddhist texts it's described as representing the first sound the universe ever made which I think is pretty spot on. If the Big Bang made a sound, or anything resembling a sound (vibration, frequency, what have you) it would be somewhere along the lines of "Ommmmmmm". But that's just what I think =)
I do have plans for this piece, it will shaded in and have a design built around it to really fill up the space and shape the design a lot more. I started small with the outline for now coz 1) Twas my first one and didn't want to introduce too big a punishment to my skin in one go, 2) Gives me time to figure out exactly what I wanna do to it and 3) I'm kinda wimpy when it comes to needles, so a 20 minute sesh worked fine for me ;P
Congratulations if you made it this far, I don't write big blurbs often but it's always appreciated if you read them when I do. Don't feel obliged though, obviously ;)
So, according to the Gregorian calendar, it was on this day 1978 years ago that some religious fanatics demanded I be nailed to 2 planks of wood by the local occupying authority (who just wanted to give me a flogging for causing a nuisance amongst the boss priests and send me on my way. Nice chaps, really), all because they couldn't handle some cool new ideas and a bit of constructive criticism.
Like I said at the time whilst dying in, let's be honest, an unreasonable amount of pain; "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do as they are just a bunch of archaic, conservative wankers!"
Anyway.
Happy Easter everybody! Hope celebrating my brutal demise and apparent "rise from the grave" and eventual assent to Heaven is a good one for ya! (Which was all just an elaborate party trick pulled off by my good mate Barry, by the way, it had all been pre-arranged . . . not sure why it never made it into the book though.) Even though, this all actually happened a few more months down the line, but hey, why remember something on the actual anniversary when you can nick someone else's holiday and put your own story to it? Poor Pagans . . .
Truth is: leave all this religious dogma alone, I was just a normal guy just sharing my opinion of the world. Go celebrate Nature and the World and all the infinite ways you could begin to NOT fuck it up. Toodles!
