Curse you glasses glare!
Today was a great Monday. I went to work at 8:30. I came home at 10:00.
The whole center was down on attendence today, so many children are on vacation or sick that there were four extra teachers that weren't needed today. I was one of the lucky ones that got to leave for the day. I used up some of the extra vacation time I just have lying around.
I come home, went back to sleep for a few hours, made breakfast foods for lunch, went to the library, did laundry, watched Ellen, and thought about doing the dishes.
I'm still thinking about the dishes now and it's 8:30 p.m. I'll most likely end up doing them before I go to bed. Either that, or I'll stop eating things with forks, since I seem to be out of them.0 commentsMarch 26th, 2012

My hair is looking a little flat and crazy right now. Oh well. I just took a nap on it.
It has been a great weekend for me!
Saturday morning I worked Parent's Morning Out at my church. We had 17 children there and we made it Easter themed. We served Easter egg shaped donuts for breakfast, we colored cross bookmarks for a craft, we did a easter egg hunt out, and we played outside in the beautiful spring weather. The kids had a lot of fun and I loved it too. Especially making some extra money.
Last night I went with my friend Crista and saw The Hunger Games. I realize that everyone else in the world has also seen this movie this weekend, but still, I want to talk about it too. I thought the movie was perfect! There were only a few details from the book that I could recall that the movie didn't have, but I thought it was very well done.
This morning was a my typical Sunday workday. It was a pretty relaxing day. Most of the children's programming was cancelled this week because of spring break, so we only had a few babies in the nursery, but it was nice. I got to talk to my coworkers about life, which is really one of my favorite things about working at my church. The sermon was good and I enjoyed singing some songs today. After church we had our monthly staff meeting and some of the ladies at church were nice enough to make us a wonderful lunch. I love my church!
I don't want to go to work again this week.1 commentMarch 25th, 2012

Hey all.
I'm having a wonderful night just being curled up in my blanket, listening to music. That may actually be my favorite activity in the whole world.
Tonight's adventure:
We got out of band early, at about 8:45 p.m, fifteen minutes early. I decide that I'm craving coffee with chocolate chip ice cream from Coldstone. I go. I get there at 9:02 p.m. Coldstone closed at 9:00 p.m. Boo! The doors are still open! Yay! Open the door, "I'm sorry, we're closed now." Boo! I drive to Target. Target better have some coffee with chocolate chip ice cream or I will probably kill a checkout person. They have it. Yay! I don't have to murder anybody! It was delicious.
The world did not end tonight.

My hair is entirely too long again.
It was 82 degrees today. Beautiful! I am a little worried that it's this warm in March though. Is it going to be 130 this summer?
We flew a kite today. Well, we attempted to fly a kite. It was far too windy. It keep crashing down to the ground.
We drew an awesome chalk mural on the side of the school today. It looks awesome. I wish I would have taken some pictures. Maybe tomorrow. I don't think it's supposed to rain tonight.
I decided today that I am not going on my mission trip to the Philippines. It sounds crazy, but I'm just not interested in going anymore. I don't want to spend teh $3000 to go. I'd rather use my vacation time to visit my favorite family in Texas for probably a whole week. Excited! As soon as they choose a date, I'm buying tickets.
Life is pretty great right now. I'm loving it.0 commentsMarch 20th, 2012

I realize that I'm wearing a cami in a lot of my picture lately. It's been 80 degrees here lately and I refuse to turn on my air conditioning in March. it just doesn't seem right. I'm not looking for the extra electric fees either.
I'm drinking a lot of wine tonight, pretty much just because I feel like it. Let's just call it an early St. Patrick's Day party, since I won't be celebrating it tomorrow night.
Yes, sometimes I drink by myself. Haha.
Today in my classroom we built a leprechaun trap. We set it up at naptime and while the kids were asleep we actually caught one. However, he got out of the trap! But, he did leave us chocolate gold coins, necklaces, and shamrock stickers. That sneaky guy!
Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?0 commentsMarch 17th, 2012

It's almost midnight.
I have my window open and the breeze coming in is lovely. I love Spring.
I had a wonderful day off. I sat in my apartment and lazed around all day. That's what days off should be like.
I made rice krispe treats for the bake sale at work tomorrow.
I can't wait to see my class. I have missed them after my four day weekend. This week will are going to have a St. Patrick's Day party. Can't wait!
I have a ton of stuff to mail tomorrow. I swear one day I'm going to get a mean letter from the mailwoman saying she hates coming here because I always have a pile of things to send. Sorry! I'm a popular girl! Haha. I love my pen pals.
I hope I get something good in the mail tomorrow. I'm trying not to have high expectations though because I've received so much wonderful mail this weekend.
I think it's bedtime.1 commentMarch 13th, 2012

Hi there. I'm sorry you haven't seen me in a long time.
This post will be long. Suck it up LiveFeed!
On Friday morning at 7:05, I got on a bus and rode for three hours to O'hare airport. I then sat in the airport for 3-4 hours. I took a plane from Chicago to Dallas. I landed at 4:30 p.m. My friend Rosie picked up me, went to dinner at an amazing restaurant called Buttons. It's "Music and Food for the Soul." It was great. I had down south chicken and waffles." We each had three drinks each and got a little goofy and a little loud. We then drove two hours and got to her house around 9:30 p.m. We chatted a little bit and then we went to bed.
On Saturday I woke up, took a shower, sat around with Rosie and her husband Chris and watched TV in their bed. Yes, we all sit around in their bed. It's a pretty open relationship, haha. We decided on a whim that we wanted to eat ice cream for breakfast/lunch. So at 11 a.m, right when they opened, we were at Coldstone eating ice cream. Coffee ice cream with chocolate chips. Fantastic. Afterwards, I got a tour of the college that they both work at. Very nice. We then proceeded to spend the next, hmmm, 5 hours just sitting in the living room, reading/listening to music/watching movies. Relaxing and lazy and wonderful. We ate "Texas food" for dinner and it was fantastic. Then we watched bull riding on TV. Their daughter, Julia, also made me a bracelet and a bag out of duct tape. They are pretty awesome.
Today we went to church and it was great! The sermon was fantastic. I've been thinking about it all day. This church also has a full orchestra every week. I would love to go to church there! I decided that the next time I visit, I'm bringing my bass clarinet so I can play along. After church, we ate lunch with a family that they are friends with. Then, at 1:30, the travel adventure began again. We drove three hours to the airport, they dropped me off, my plane took of at 6:00 p.m, it landed at 8:10 p.m, I sat around in a bus terminal until my bus got there at 10:15 p.m, I got into my town at 12:45 a.m, I got home at 1:15 a.m.
It's almost 3 a.m. It's time for bed. I'm glad I took Monday off of work too.

Hi everyone. I won't write to you in Spanish today, even though I think it would be kind of fun just to make my DailyBooth Spanish for awhile.
Today was a great day. We had a rough hour in the morning, but we all calmed down when it was time to read The Cat in the Hat. My class loves that book. They let me read it twice. AND THEY WERE QUIET THE WHOLE TIME. It's like an angel was sitting in my classroom or something.
We made Cat in the Hat hats today and my kids looked great. If I wouldn't get in a lot of trouble for posting their picture, I would show you how cute they were. It stinks that I can't share my class with any of my friends online.
I'm so excited to go visit my friend in Texas on Friday!5 commentsMarch 6th, 2012
