I'm so thirsty! It's weird. I'm usually not this thirsty in the middle of the morning. Oh well, guess I should just drink some water.

My alarm went off at 6:30 this morning and I thought it was a joke. Then I remembered that I am indeed back at school and that means that I must go spend time with the 1st graders again. I wasn't really in the mood.

That mood quickly passed though when I got there. I fell right back into the daily grind. It felt like I was never even gone. The kids acted like I hadn't missed a week too. It was nice. We got a new student today. A girl! Now we have 8 girls and 17 boys, haha. The boys are dominating this classroom. A new student with only like three months left of school kind of freaks me out too. She seems to be perfectly caught up though. Good at math, very good reader, we'll be okay.

Plans for Today:
- Eat lunch
- Take a nap
- Class at 1:20
- Maybe another nap? (I'm feeling extremely lazy today)
- Wind Ensemble
- Dinner
- All of the homework I didn't do this past week (Ugh!)

What homework do you have tonight?

@LaLaLauryn It would have made sense to wake up thirsty, but I posted this at like 10:30. I had already been up and moving for four hours!

I hate being the new kid in school. Hope the others don't pick on her.

@Not_That_Steph_The_Other_Steph The kids in my class are way too polite for that. They were all talking to her and treating her like she'd been there all year about ten minutes after meeting her. I think it's different for younger kids. Now, if they were 5th graders, they may make fun or her.

Well, I guess I could finish my worksheet for punnet squares, but that wasn't even supposed to be assigned to me until next Monday anyway.

@TaeKwonDoChic Semi-fun homework is better than completely boring homework. Good luck!

@BassClarinetNerd It's a research article critique for my nursing research class. The article is about using drills to increase influenza vaccination rates among health care providers. It can only be 4-5 pages double spaced which doesn't allow for much room.. I am currently cutting it down because its too long. I hate having page restrictions.
How about yours? Is it for an English class?

@discotheque Sounds like a pretty interesting paper. Mine is for one of my education classes. We are learning about different strategies to use in the classroom. We have to write a paper reflecting on each one we learn about, pros, cons, how we would use it, that kind of thing.

I wrote up a paper about a home visit yesterday - which was basicalyl that - reflecting the pros/cons of the strategies utilized during the visit.

More boys than girls?! That's so unusual! I don't think I've ever been in a classroom where there were more boys than girls.

@whoanicole Wow...maybe there is something in the water in Illinois, because boys are dominating. In the nursery at my church on Sunday mornings there are about 15 babies under the age of two. Literally three of them are girls. It's ridiculous!
