Hey folks, guys, ladies, gents, gals, babes, dudes, pals, friends, peeps, yall, everybody;
(Don't ask)
I have to read the "lord of the flies" as some english task (HOMEWORK ALREADY!?!!? URGH!)
It was my first day today, it wasn't tooooooooooooooo bad I guess.....
Just so...
Normal
Maths was the worst though, I have zero motivation for maths.
Anyway, I don't mind reading, just asking if this is a good book?
***question*** What is your favourite book, EVAR? :)

    I've read it for fun a year ago and am supposed to read it this year in school. I though it was alright, but nothing too metaphoric about it. Not sure what we're going to talk about.

    Because... well... fuck why do I? O_o

    Basically, you know all those 'complex' books where there are supposed to be metaphors for things and hidden shit, and general smart things (like most of the population said The Davinci Code was supposed to be). Well this is a genuinly genuis peice of literature. I have no heard of a single person thats read it through and said anything less than "wow that was pretty good!".
    Its really random, very clever and very realistic (well... in what people would do anyway :P). Its about a couple of dudes that basically get roped into saving... everything. But not in some "it is your destiny" shit way, it was just an accident an now they just DO it...
    The first couple of prints of the book soldout completely within a couple of months. Now they're doing a 3rd edition and that might've sold out too!
    The author also does a website that is so unbelievably cryptic, we have a forum set up just to work out all that shit!

    @Diceman Oooh yeah well I guess some people like different things eh? I guess you like it for the litrature? See I love stories with a great plot and character development and good description to set the scenes, thats what I generallyu go for in books. But I'll pretty much read anything <3
    @ChreeesDunn You seem like you read a fair amount :) I'd say a book a week is reading quite a lot :) I try aim for that, a book a day is impossible.
    @HermioneGranger I've read that, it was incredible. <3
    @elizavacious You like pratchet ehh? I've only read one of his books "making money" it had a nice style....humourous at times, but it wasn't the top of my list.. it didn't really have a clear plot :S
    @lindseeey Ooooh what do you like about it? :)
    @wheezie I LOVE THAT BOOK! <3
    @vicmorrowsghost hahaha! It sounds like a lighthearted read :) I may check it out :D

    He is a tad confusing. Also, you did start smack in the middle of a series. x) I suggest starting with The Color of Magic.
    Good Omens is way different though, because Gaiman is quite orderly and a bit more dark. They balance each other out.

    Well, you get used to his writing style. And there are like...inside jokes. So it's more satisfying to read them in order. Which is why I suggest you starting with the first two. They're actual companions, and really set up everything.

    @lindseeey No, it's not the Stephen King book :D It's bascially about a boy, and his mother abuses him to such an extent... she singles him out all the time and he really suffers. The next two books are about him growing up, moving away from his mum and wondering why she treated him like she did. It's just really moving and sad, but I loved it
    @vicmorrowsghost hahaha :P are you sure it's an adult book ? :P
    @hacs what does? ^^
    @elizavacious Oooooh! I'm annoyed with myself now, because I really didn't think it was part of a set :( silly me =/
