These used to be pants. I really hope this hole wasn't there during my improv performance tonight. This happened a few weeks ago to my other pair of slacks, too, the nice pair. That was the pair I would have worn to the performance tonight...rather than this pair, which has holes in the knees that grow every time I kneel or even bend my legs. If this hole was here the whole time, I might as well have worn the "nicer" pair. Same embarrassing hole either way, right? *facedesk*

Though I do believe the hole in the other pair is larger, so there's that. In any case, I'm now down to one pair of ill-fitting, manhood-crushing second-hand jeans as far as waist-to-ankle coverings go. Time to go make myself poorer at a clothes store.

Psyching myself up to take my swollen eyelid to the doctor, in spite of my lack of medical insurance. This is going to suck.

For clarification, I'm not shutting my left eye, here. Opening it any wider requires me to attempt to stare in a bug-eyed fashion.

Went out on a whale watching boat today at Depoe Bay, Oregon, to spread the ashes of my uncle, Brian, as well as some of the ashes of my grandmother, Doris. Years ago, Depoe Bay is where we spread my aunt Mary's ashes. Brian is now with his sister.

I have to say, forcing family on a boat to say goodbye? I think it's damn brilliant. I did when Mary got us all on a boat together, and I still love it. I love boats and I like that it forces some people to experience something they otherwise might avoid. Even if you get seasick, it's a good experience to have, and a damn fine sight to see.
