HNY Dailybooth! Well here is a picture of me and my boy after midnight. He rarely smiles for photos so this was a good take (although slightly drunken!)

I don't really have a new year's resolution. I'd like to be a better person, I aspire to be more like my mum in that she's just nice to everyone! I still wish that people could just get along and get a grip but I'm very happy at the moment.

I wish that I had seen some of my closest friends at Niall's party, they were much missed. But nothing's ever perfect, is it? Hopefully 2012 can beat 2011. I had a great year, things happened that I could never have wished for. I went to Africa on an exchange that my team funded; Miriam stayed for a week; I worked at the European Parliament and I got a job. And a boyfriend...:)

It actually makes me sad that there are so few pictures of me and Nik, because he is just my fave. I have had one of those days where i have realised how lucky I really am, because it dawned on me how happy i am! I wake up smiling, and its because of my fave, and my lovely friends too.

All in all, you just make me smile all the time. And when I'm sad just thinking of getting hugs and cuddles can cheer me up. I am just so very lucky, that I can be myself with you, and trust that everything you say is honest.

ALSO my friends are flippin amazing, and have helped me through SO much recently after whats gone on between my parents. I couldnt live without them, i hope they know that.

I am just supeeeer happy, and excited for christmas :) yaaaay.

12 months ago i lost you, after a really terrible 18 months of heartache and pain and the man i knew as my happy cheeky Grandad started to fade away. I think back to when you were for a while, and mum didn't want me to see you, but i wish i had.. just to have spoken to you one last time.. even if it was nonsense..
Because for the 18 months that followed it was hell to see you in the hospital, they told us you had days left.. I would never hear your voice again. For the 18 months that you were in hospital, and in that home.. no longer able to talk, walk, move.. we don't even know if you knew us anymore.

I remember the last time i spoke to you, it was just after easter in 2009 and we were all round at Karens, the thing that upsets me most is that i can't remember your last words to me.. But what makes me happy is the clear and vivid memory of your smile and your laughter on that day, just like all over days i say you.

It sounds a bit silly, i dont think people really understand, people lose grandparents all the time i suppose.. but this was different. You were my hero, and you just made me so proud. And the amount i miss you just grows and grows. To know that I will never see that cheeky smile again really breaks my heart, and i know you would have all the answers now.

I hope I am making you proud, and i hope you know how much i love and miss you. RIP Grandad <3
