@AMCBold Aaah weekend - I don't go home often enough though I just got back from visiting my parents in Berkshire (County outside of London(UK), just head west - more trees, fewer people) My preference is the coast - love being by the sea
It's got one big shopping centre called the Arndale Centre, which has pretty much every shop in it (I think it's the biggest mall in the UK or something), but to be honest, seeing as I'm not quite sure what an outlet mall is, I don't think we have those in England...
Unless I'm being really slow, which is possible XD
@Sazmerelda They're huge malls with tons of name brands and the prices are lower than regular retail price. They're also known as factory outlet, cuz you skip a lot of middle people. Maybe they're a North American phenomenon. A lot of cities only get tourists from their outlet malls. Niagara Falls has a huge outlet mall.
@AMCBold, in York we have a Designer Outlet which is pretty similar sounding to that, but they have individual shops and stuff. We have shopping centres (like Meadowhall in Sheffield) which have a MASSIVE collection of shops, and it has a food court and a Cinema and stuff, but they aren't normally cheaper than other branches of the same franchises.
Malls sound like a LOT of fun though lol
@HeathenCandy Yeah, individual brand stores. :) Outlet malls come in a variety of different shapes and sizes here. Some outdoors, some indoors, some spread apart in many buildings, some are in one massive building. They are fun! But only when you have lots of money at your disposal. Though things tend to be cheaper, you get more for less. :D
Yeah, I don't think we have anything exactly like that here....
Sounds cool though!
We're going to Manchester because it's only a 40 min trip on the train, and my friend is from there, so knows her way around, and knows all the nice little non-chain store shops :D
